I can’t tell you how many times a day I get asked to go to the zoo. Not even to go see the animals. Mostly for the water area and what Big C likes to call the ropes. Basically this big rope thingy that kids can climb up and down. And Big C climbs that thing like a champ. A CHAMP. He’s like a little monkey that kid. It’s fun to watch.
But the ZOO! We love the zoo! The giraffes are my favorite, the cheetah is Miss K’s favorite and the boys…they love it all.
Although the birds flying over our heads did seem to make Little C the most excited. He loves….LOVES…birds. But the best part was while we were at the petting zoo…They have a huge tortoise there…and Big C is OBSESSED with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles right now.
As soon as he sees that giant tortoise, he looks at me with the biggest smile on his face and the biggest, brightest eyes, and says, “I want to pet the Ninja Turtle. Mommy! They have a Ninja Turtle!!!”
Made. My. Day. The excitement was oozing out of the kid. Over a tortoise. And, at the end of the day, the excitement oozing out of the kids, makes the chaos of every single day worth it.
