The Kidney Appointment

We had baby boy’s one year appointment last week.

He’s doing great. More and more steps are taken every day which means I’ll have a full on walker soon, he’s a little guy weighing in at 21 lbs. To compare, Little Man was 24 lbs at his one year check up and Little Miss, well she was a tiny 18lbs. So he’s right in the middle.

But this post is really to tell  you about his kidney update

Baby boy has a slightly enlarged right kidney. It has never bothered him and we’ve been monitoring him with ultrasounds since I was 28 weeks pregnant. We were supposed to get an ultrasound before his one year appointment but our lovely military PCS got in the way so Wednesday we travel to the children’s hospital for that appointment. I’m nervous and of course thinking of all the worst case scenarios so please think of us and pray that my baby’s kidney is fine. That it is going into normal range and no other treatment is needed. I won’t have the results until probably next week so I’ll be a wreck until then. Luckily my husband is the, “let’s not worry until there’s something to worry about sort,” so he helps calm me down when I get all crazy anxious about it all.

And while we’re on the subject of thinking of people and praying for people, please continue to keep Diana and her family in your prayers. They are truly going through hell. I am thinking of them every day and hope for the best for their sweet baby boy.

I will be praying and having others doing the same. We usually worry about something that never happens, so we will try not to worry till you find out. He looks like the picture of health, so we will keep our fingers crossed. Hang in there Stacy

We had the same issue with our little man and even though it all turned out just fine, it causes so much stress to a mama’s heart! I hope that it all went smoothly and you get good news!

Awww I’m glad that everything turned out OK and yes! Such stress. The urologist he saw a few months ago was amazing and even said he believes that since the swelling is so minimal that it will fix itself but still…No mama wants to hear that something is wrong with her baby. And the tests they would have to do to determine the cause are just awful. Praying so hard we don’t have to go down that road.
